Winter is coming βοΈ
Proper lithium battery storage is key to preventing early failure and ensuring a smooth startup in spring. π±
Here's the deal: Cold weather increases internal resistance, reduces capacity, and damages batteries if stored improperly.
But with the right approach, you can keep them in top shape:
β Maintain a suitable temperature: Store lithium batteries in a place with a higher temperature as much as possible, and avoid long-term exposure to low temperature.
β Control the depth of charge and discharge: In a low temperature environment, it is recommended not to fully discharge or charge the battery. Keeping the battery power between 30%-80% can effectively extend the battery life.
β Avoid fast charging: Fast charging at low temperatures may cause lithium ions to precipitate on the surface of the negative electrode to form metallic lithium. Therefore, it is recommended to use a lower charging current in a low temperature environment.
β Pay attention to the storage of the battery. If it is not used for a long time, it is recommended to remove the battery and store it in a higher temperature indoor environment.
β Check and charge regularly - even some "maintenance-free" batteries, unless you choose Jilipow products for powerful performance and no worries about winter use!
